I removed the right hinge from my laptop. It now has a swivel effect that is purely unintentional. The hinge is completely ceased, wd40 and olive oil haven't been able to get it moving again.
When the monitor casing first snapped around the stubborn hinge my monitor stopped working entirely. A reboot caused the touchpad to wig out. There was at least a day there where I didn't even bother to boot it up, thinking it was a lost cause. Not worth the expense to fix.
With the right mindset you can do anything. With a what have I got to lose attitude, I began to remove the hinge and reboot. Little FOO may have lost a limb but after surgery it's doing much better. It appears that it just needed a short holiday to start working again, maybe it heard that I was looking for another to take to fitc. My gadgets have been known to get jealous of one another.
